Signing up for your first class is a big step but rest assured, this can actually be one of the hardest parts! Now you have committed to showing up, there are a few things to know. These tips for your first day will make things easier.
- Bring a towel and a water bottle!
No pain, no gain! And this means you’re gonna sweat. Pack a towel and some water!
- Start slow…
If you go all out right away, you’ll end up with an injury. Stick close to your coach and they’ll let you know if you’re overdoing it.
- …but don’t be afraid to challenge yourself
With the above being said, don’t hold back too much. Try some things you never thought you would be able to do. You might find you’re not so successful but at least you can set a starting point to work from.
- Track your progress
Tracking your results from the get-go will help you chart measurable improvements. Here at Veritas we have a workout journal for you to record workouts, measurements, personal bests etc.
- Invest in some quality footwear
What you’re wearing on your feet is important and is well worth a small investment.
- Remember, everyone was you once
The most seasoned athletes started as newbies with no idea what they were doing. When you enter the gym, you may witness some incredible talent and some inspiring bodies. But rest assured, nothing was achieved overnight! Be motivated by the senior members, not intimidated.
- Listen to your coaches!
One of the biggest benefits of Veritas is you have a coach working with you constantly. Make the most of this by asking for advice and taking cues from your coach. With their advice, you’ll be able to achieve better results, faster.
- Bring a smile
